Aanandam - My First Movie

Tale of a joint family

PRODUCER R. B. CHOWDRY is banking on this film and he is pretty sure that this will be a box office hit. ``As the title `Aanandam' suggests, it will make every viewer happy,'' he says. For Mammooty this film will be a good comeback vehicle. Murali hopes to regain lost ground while Abbas thinks he will make a mark and Shyam Ganesh is optimistic that it will bring him more offers. Director Linguswamy's hard work shows in every frame.
``The film actually is based on real life. Born in a large family I was impressed with the incidents my mother narrated to me. They were deeply etched in my memory and I thought I would use them when I got a chance to direct a film. Thus when Mr. Chowdhry gave me an opportunity I narrated the stories and he found them highly appealing,'' says Linguswamy.
``I think we need new thoughts and new ideas. That is what is lacking here. If the new director is able to tell me the story without getting help from his assistants and also not referring to his notes, I am impressed. That is how I choose the script and the director and so far, by God's grace I have been successful,'' responds the producer.
The story is about a joint family of four brothers, Mammooty being the eldest. The emotional drama has its moments of joy and sadness.
The star cast includes Vijayakumar, Delhi Ganesh, Devayani, Ramba, Sneha, Srividya, Poonam and Bava. A new comedian is being introduced. Camera is by Arthur A. Wilson, art is by Maniraj, stunts are done by Super Subbarayan and editing is by V. Jaishanker. Brindhasarathy has written the dialogue and S. A. Rajkumar has scored the music. Story, screenplay and direction are by N. Linguswamy. R. B. Chowdry produces the film which is expected to hit the silver screen in a couple of weeks.
